Here we go. This post opens Open Humanities, the blog of the Open Humanities group at English @ SUNY Geneseo.
The blog is a space for group members to share teaching materials and course content, discuss ideas and issues at the heart of the course, and alert one another to resources and developments related to the course or to the humanities in general.
If you’re taking, have taken, or have yet to take one or both courses in the SUNY Geneseo Western Humanities sequence, you’re welcome to post here about the texts on the syllabus and the ideas you find in them. You’re also welcome to make connections between the Humanities sequence and other things — e.g., your other courses, your own reading, or events in the news.
Just be sure to follow the rules of the English @ SUNY Geneseo community (which you must first join).
If you’re teaching, have taught, or plan to teach one or both courses in the sequence, think about using the blog for an assignment. Or use it to record your own thoughts about the course and its texts.
